Mold Proofer®Roof Coat

SMP-300

SMP-300 Mold Proofer Roof Coat and SMP-300A are elastomeric insulative coatings which implement the use of borosilicate ceramic technology in order to provide a seamless membrane acting as an insulative barrier for roofs.  The SMP-300 series are formulated with anti-microbial additives or without.  SMP-300A is formulated with a tailored dehydration matrix that is united with a proprietary EPA registered anti-microbial that prevents the growth of mold, mildew, sapstain, fungus and any biological life on the film without compromising environmental considerations.  SMP-300 and 300A incorporates intense stain-blocking and odor encapsulating additives. The SMP-300 products can be applied to a wide variety of porous and non-porous roofing materials including metal, polyurethane foam, cured concrete, asphalt shingles, wood and older coating applications.   SMP-300/A will stop leaks, reduce thermal shock and improve the lifecycle of the roof.  SMP-300/A is formulated to remain flexible even in sub-zero temperatures and is highly UV resistant. SMP-300/A is also excellent for insulating cold and hot piping, drying ovens, duct work, boilers, windows and sky lights.

ANTIMICROBIAL & ODOR ENCAPSULATING

SMP-300A encompasses a broad-spectrum of antimicrobial additives that inhibit the growth of microorganisms on the surface of the film for the life of the coating.

An odor encapsulate that counteracts and aids in deodorizing and eliminating odors.

APPLICATIONS

  • Roofing, windows, skylights, walls, ceilings, duct work etc.
  • Truck & trailer roofs (refrigerated truck bodies)
  • Camper roofs, motor homes
  • Furnaces, piping, drying ovens, boilers

APPLICATION & EQUIPMENT

SMP-300/A should be applied to 15-20 mils WFT and two coats are recommended for longer service life.  Apply with airless sprayer such as the Speed Hydro M4000 or Graco Bulldog 218-320 with 0.036” to 0.053” tip size. Product may be brushed or rolled with a 1” nap roller.

Mixing:

SMP-300 is a single component product and should be thoroughly stirred prior to application.

**Must keep product should be kept sealed when not in use.

Curing:

Dry time @ 24C / 75Fambient air cure

To Touch: 1-2 hours. To Handle: 4-24 hours. To Recoat: 4-24 hours depending on conditions.

Surface Preparation:

Metal surfaces must be power washed @ minimum 4000 psi prior to power tool cleaning or rust, scales and other corrosion.

The use of CPT-298/99 conversion primer(s) may be used to prepare rust surfaces prior to the application of SMP-300/A.  Shingle roofs should be power washed at a lower pressure.

Surface must be dry and free of debris before application.  Remove all foreign and loose matter.

Coverage:

Solids content (+/- 2%): 50% by volume, 60% by weight

Number of Coats: Apply at 15-20 mils WFT and two coats are recommended. 3 to 4 coats at 75 microns / 3 mils DFT (5.4 mils wet).

Coverage (theoretical): 100 ft2 per gallon @ 15 mils WFT

COLORS & FINISHES

White is the recommended color as it has the best thermal reactivity properties however, blended colors are available. SMP-300/A has a semi-gloss finish.
