Form Release Agent
GCC-100 FRO Oil-Based
SEI Form Release - Oil base is a low VOC, low odor, biodegradable and environmentally friendly form release. This form release agent provides exceptional release properties while protecting the environment and the workers who apply the product. Recommended for wood, aluminum or metal forms and is the product of choice for Plastic Form Liners. Since the product does not contain waxes, GCC-100 is non-staining to the concrete.
When applied by sprayer, brush or roller, the product forms a film on the surface that covers 100% of the exposed form area. 100% coverage is the GCC-100 advantage by providing uniform release that avoids heavy build-up and uncovered areas. GCC-100 will not crater, bead, run or sag on vertical applications. Residual concrete dust can be wiped off with a rag or water washed to a clean surface. This reduction in heavy build-up reduces form preparation between uses, increasing the forms useful life and decreases labor and maintenance costs. Ideal for use on aluminum, pre-cast forms, plywood, lumber, steel, rubber, plastics and treated paper. No surface preparation is required for subsequent coatings or treatments of concrete formed with GCC-100.
Forms and other surfaces that are to be made bond free should be cleaned before applying GCC-100. Remove previous build up of concrete, rust, scale and dirt, and repair any holes or fractures from previous use before applying. GCC-100 is ready to use direct from its container. Do not dilute. It may be applied by brush, roller, spray or dipping on forms immediately before pouring concrete. However, because GCC-100 or any other form release agent must be kept off reinforcing steel and any other embedments, spray application must be done with care when forms and steel are already in place. An alternative is to coat forms with GCC-100 just prior to erection of rebar steel. GCC-100 can be effective for up to three weeks before concrete is poured. It is also recommended that forms be treated with GCC-100 between each pour and before long periods of idleness or storage. Coat Uniformly - Leave no Gaps.
*NOTE: GCC-100 must be allowed to dry on the forms prior to pouring concrete.
GCC-100 meets or exceeds the requirements of the Corp of Engineers, Civil Works
Construction Guide, CW-0301, section 2.1.2. and 3.1.3. and Bureau of Reclamation Standards, many State Specifications for non-staining form release and VOC regulations including California.
500-1000 sq.ft./gal (12.5-25 m2/L) depending on porosity, texture and form material.
